DESCRIPTION

“Sunday Morning” is a striped linen duvet cover with fine café au lait stripes. We sew it by hand from 100% Polish linen, 175 g/m². It closes with linen ties and has a deep envelope flap, with no buttons or zip. Sizes from 140×200 to 240×260 cm, custom sizes and white monograms on request.

Imagine your perfect Sunday morning. No alarm clock, nowhere you need to rush to. You take your time over a hot milky coffee in a comfortable bed, wrapped in soft linen bedding. You feel rested and full of energy after a good night's sleep. With mornings like this in mind, we created “Sunday Morning”, a collection of striped linen bedding made from Polish linen.

The fine beige stripes on the linen duvet cover are the colour of milky coffee. Linen is a remarkable fabric for bedding: linen bedding keeps you pleasantly cool in summer and warm in winter.

We believe each of us deserves at least one day a week without a long to-do list, with a little more time just for ourselves. Ideally in a comfortable bed, under a warm down duvet in a soft linen cover.

A beige striped linen duvet cover for a down duvet

We cut and sew the cover by hand, with attention to the smallest detail. Like the down in our duvets, linen regulates temperature, which makes it an ideal cover for a natural Polish goose down duvet.

Complete the set with plain “Sunday Morning” linen pillowcases in the colour of the stripe.

Why linen bedding?

  • It regulates body temperature: pleasantly cool in summer, cosy and warm in winter.
  • It lets your skin breathe. It absorbs moisture and dries quickly, so you sleep dry and fresh.
  • It is exceptionally durable. It does not wear thin, copes well with washing and ironing at high temperatures, and gets softer with every wash.
  • It will last you for many years, just like our Polish goose down duvets.
  • An eco-friendly choice. Flax grows in our climate and needs far less water than cotton, as well as few fertilisers and pesticides. Growing it enriches the soil.
  • Nothing from flax goes to waste: the stems become yarn, the seeds are used in the food industry, and the leftovers are made into paper and boards.
  • Linen is biodegradable. After many years of use, it can be composted.
  • Made in Poland: sewn by hand by our family business.
  • Linen is one of the oldest fabrics known to humankind. It was used as currency, ancient Egyptians wrapped mummies in it, and in Europe it was used for underwear, which is where the French word “lingerie” comes from.

Linen ties and a deep envelope flap instead of buttons or a zip

The cover closes with linen ties and has a deep sewn-in envelope flap. There are no buttons or zips, which are the first things to break in the wash. The duvet does not slip out, and the ties hold it in place.

Free white monogram

On request, we embroider a white monogram with your initials, e.g. J.B, on the duvet cover free of charge. Simply enter the letters when you order. A monogram gives the bedding a personal touch and makes it an elegant gift.

Bedding: frequently asked questions

Is linen bedding good for summer?

Yes. Linen is breathable and wicks moisture, so it feels cool on hot nights. In winter the same fabric keeps you warm, so the cover works all year round.

Is linen bedding healthy?

The linen we use is made from 100% natural flax. The fabric is free from dyes and from carcinogenic or suspected carcinogenic substances (it contains no banned aromatic amines). It contains no extractable heavy metals and no formaldehyde, in line with the mandatory Polish standard PN-88/P-04646. It has a skin-friendly pH and is even suitable for storing food.

Linen or cotton bedding: which should I choose?

Linen is cooler, very durable and has a naturally creased look. Cotton sateen is smooth and easier to iron. If you prefer smooth white bedding, see our “White Classic” collection.

Can linen bedding go in the tumble dryer?

Yes, on a low setting. Take it out straight after drying and smooth it out by hand. You can also dry it flat or outdoors.

Can you make a custom size linen duvet cover?

Yes, in any size. Email hello@emkap1926.com and we will reply within 24 hours with a quote and lead time. Custom covers will be ready within 10 working days.
